Dairy: John & Sue Thompson, Darlington, brought a newly calved Holstein heifer on the off week and still made £1700.
Rearing Calves & Stirks: A good number again attracting buyers who were all keen for the calves and stirks on offer.
£510 was the top call for a Blue Bull consigned by Katharine Miller of Cow Close, Darlington, purchased by David Albutt, Driffield. Not far behind came Tony Houseman, Ripon, making £505 for one of the same breed, then Little Newsham Farms, Darlington at £500.
Angus bulls reached £445 for Andrew Avison, Coverdale, selling to no other than Brian Rutheford. A run of ten strong, well reared Simmental bulls sold from £480 to £305 for Robert Armstrong and Family, Arrathorne.
A Blue heifer from Bobby & John Bainbridge, Marrick, caught the eye of Geoffrey Porter of Reeth who forked out £460 for her.
Jess Simpson, in charge of the Gildersbeck calves, sold the top priced Angus heifer which made £390 to John Fawcett, Marske.
The first Groninger Blaarkop to be sold by the Mart, a bull consigned by The Middleton Family of Askrigg, made £305.

Store Lambs: A varied show of lambs with the strong, fit continental lambs selling well and still plenty of demand for long keep lambs. The sale had an overall average of £88.50.
John Fawcett of Marske took top honours with a pen of Beltex cross gimmers to reach £128 and his pen of wether’s making £120. A Pair of quality Beltex tup lambs sold to £125 for Page Farms, Rookwith, along with a pair of gimmers at £122. Eric Blacklock, Catterick, sold a fit mule tup lamb to £93.50. Willy Stanger, West Witton, sold a single strong Suffolk lamb for £90.
